The King’s School for Government is offering scholarships for civil servants across the Commonwealth under the Ben Delo Commonwealth Leadership Programme. This prestigious opportunity supports professional development in policy and governance.
Who Can Apply?
✔️ Commonwealth civil servants
✔️ At least 3 years of experience in a policy-focused role
✔️ Nominated by their member state (via line manager, senior colleague, or central government authority)
✔️ Holds a 2:1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
✔️ Applicants without a degree may be considered if they demonstrate relevant professional experience at a postgraduate level
✔️ Meets English Language Band B requirements (if applicable)
📌 Scholarships apply to courses through the 2025–2026 academic year.

OAS Scholarships

Scholarships are tenable at academic institutions in any OAS Member State.  Candidates must apply for admission directly to their desired university and programs of study. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for studies at institutions participating in the OAS Consortium of Universities because of lower tuition rates negotiated with them.
OAS Scholarships have a monetary cap of US$10,000 per academic year and only cover a maximum of (2) years.
✍️ APPLICATION PROCESS:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belize acts as the National Liaison Office (ONE).
IMPORTANT 📍The DEADLINE to submit applications to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belize is Friday. March 14 2025 .📍
The application process requires two steps:
1️⃣ Applicants should apply online directly through the OAS online application form: www.oas.org/scholarships
2️⃣ Applicants are required to also submit the following electronic documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belize via email to jenina.urbina@mfa.gov.bz and copy belizemfa@btl.net
✅ Completed Online Application Form
✅ Copy of the diploma for the highest degree obtained
✅ Copy of transcript of grades for the highest academic degree completed and/or to be completed. If the applicant is currently enrolled in a program of study, he/she will also need to submit the current, unofficial transcript.
✅ Proof of registration or unconditional admission letter to the program of study program
✅ Two (2) recommendation forms from current or former professors, supervisors, business leaders, etc., stamped and/or signed, using the OAS Recommendation Statement Form, or previous employer using the Employer Recommendation Form.
✅ If unemployed or never employed, the candidate may obtain recommendations from whom they think can give academic, professional or personal references using the OAS Recommendation Statement Form. Recommendation forms must be written and signed by the recommenders and they cannot come from relatives of the applicant.
✅ Curriculum Vitae (must not exceed 2 pages)
✅ Copy of the Official Identification Card (ID) – Government issued ID by the Sponsoring Country or Passport
❗️For undergraduate studies applicants only:
✅ Copy of academic transcript for the Bachelor’s degree program in which currently enrolled.
✅ Applicants that intend to transfer credits from previous studies to undertake only the last two academic years of a Bachelor’s degree program must submit copies of the diploma and transcripts for the Associate’s degree previously obtained.
Pre -selected candidates must be already enrolled in the program of study or have an unconditional admission letter to the university to begin studies between January and December 2025.

The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) invites candidates wishing to pursue a master’s degree in the United Kingdom commencing in September 2024 to apply using the CSC’s Online Application System between 5th September – 17th October 2023.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to submit independent applications to their chosen institutions in the UK prior to, or at the time of their submission, without waiting for the results of the selection procedures. The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) will submit the list of eligible candidates to the Nominating Agency (Ministry of the Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform and Religious Affairs). The Nominating Agency through its National Selection Panel will conduct an interview with each eligible candidate. The top two (2) candidates will be Belize Nominations for onward submission to CSC by 12th December 2023.

MASTERS SCHOLARSHIP – CHILE

The Government of Chile has advised of the launch of the Masters’ Scholarship Programme 2024. The Programme offers scholarships to pursue studies for Masters’ Degrees at Universities in Chile over the period 1 March 2024 to 30 September 2024 inclusive. The subject areas offered are extensive and include Sciences, Arts, Engineering, Linguistics, Mathematics, Literature, Nutrition, Psychology, Social Work, Philosophy, History and Sociology. Interested applicants should be able to speak, read and write proficiently in Spanish. Applications must be submitted by 30 November 2023 to the Embassy of Chile in Georgetown, Guyana via the email addresses nonesia@minrel.gob.cl and echile.guyana@minrel.gob.cl.

IRELAND FELLOWS PROGRAMME FOR SMALL ISLAND DEVELOPING STATES (SIDS)

OAS – SEDI LANGUAGE COOPERATION PROGRAMME

The Language Cooperation Programme offers citizens of OAS Member states the opportunity to learn one of our 4 official languages – English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. The Programme will begin with Spanish language learning opportunities for Caribbean member states. A special feature of this program is the training and certification for teachers of Spanish as a second language. Courses will begin on Monday October 9th and conclude on December 15th, 2023.
