Hon. Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Education, Culture, Science and Technology of Belize, today welcomed H.E. Amino C.Y. Chi, new Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and H.E. Ana Luisa Vallejo Barba, new Ambassador of the United Mexican States, for presentations of copies of their credentials.
In separate bilateral meetings, the Foreign Minister welcomed the Ambassadors as the new representatives of their respective countries and wished them well in their tenures. Ambassador Chi expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and affirmed his readiness to contribute to strengthening ties between Belize and the Republic of China (Taiwan). Ambassador Vallejo Barba likewise conveyed her gratitude and commitment to deepening cooperation between Belize and Mexico.
Discussions with Ambassador Chi focused on advancing the bilateral agenda and reaffirmed a shared commitment to strengthening ties grounded in principles and cooperation in areas of mutual benefit.
In his exchange with Ambassador Vallejo Barba, Minister Fonseca underscored the brotherly ties between Belize and Mexico, rooted in shared history, geographic proximity, and mutual respect, while highlighting opportunities to expand trade and strengthen interconnectivity.
Her Excellency Dame Froyla Tzalam, Governor-General, will receive the Ambassadors later today for the formal presentation of their credentials. This at the conclusion of their presentations, the Ambassadors will begin their official duties in Belize.
