Belize and Taiwan Sign Women and Youth MSMEs Development Project Agreement

Today, Monday, 24th August 2026, The Government of Belize and the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) signed the Belize Women and Youth MSMEs Development Project Agreement, a jointly funded initiative valued at approximately US$3 million to strengthen micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with a particular focus on women and young entrepreneurs.

The project will be jointly implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Education, Culture, Science and Technology of Belize and the Taiwan Technical Mission in Belize.

Building on previous cooperation project that supported approximately 2,000 women and over a hundred of start-ups, the project will provide targeted training, business guidance and support to help entrepreneurs strengthen their businesses, improve market access, create jobs and achieve sustainable growth.

The Government of Belize expressed its appreciation to Government of Taiwan for its continued partnership and investment in Belize’s entrepreneurs and private sector, noting that the initiative represents an important step toward building a stronger, more inclusive and resilient economy.
